Weekly Nuggets #2 – Post Genesis

Week 2, friends!!! Woohoo, we made it! 🥳

I’m so thankful to God and super thrilled that we are advancing with grace, style, purpose and straight shoulders! 😄 Ain’t no stopping us, fam. We move!

For those who just joined the party, I am working on putting up a nugget/quote daily on Instagram, and cataloguing it as a Weekly Nuggets post. Check out the pioneer Weekly Nuggets post here. I am trusting God to inspire me with something relevant and fun each day. Well, for me, It is more about the journey than the destination, so I’m hoping to get us to enjoy this all the way to December. 💃🏽🥂

Here are the quotes for Week II:

“In life, you control what you can.” I snagged this statement from Michelle Obama’s memoir – “Becoming” and I love, love it.

It’s another way of stating the age-long nursery rhyme, “Do your best and leave the rest.” I am a huge advocate of channeling all one’s energy into only what one can change (because that’s the only profitable use of your energy anyway. 🙂)

And as we begin this new week, I hope we all remember to put in work (and attention) into only the things we can influence and trust God for all the rest. ✌🏽

This is a line from David Goggin’s “Can’t Hurt Me.” I haven’t quite finished reading the book but the much I’ve read is 🔥🔥🔥.

It implies that passion, perseverance, enthusiasm and dedication trump luck or talent any day; and that if we want something well enough, we would most likely get it in spite of challenges or opposing forces. Now, that’s something! 💪🏽🏋🏽‍♀️🤸🏽‍♀️

The Bible verse that comes to mind is, “Whatsoever things you desire, when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them!” (Mark 11:24) 💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽🙏🏽

‘Nuff said! 🙌🏽😍🏋🏽‍♀️🤸🏽‍♀️

#Promise #Prophecy #Reality🙏🏽

I apologize in advance in case I inundate your newsfeed with quotes from Angela Duckworth’s “Grit” but the book is simply all that! I almost highlight every single line! 🤣 😅

Anyway, this here is gold. It’s a call to not give up just yet because your next strike may just be the one that fells the tree, or hits the treasure.

One big word for me from the book is C O N S I S T E N C Y. And the next best news is that “it can be learned!” 😙💃🏽🥳💪🏽

We can all learn to be consistent with our efforts, and to stick with our goals until we reach them. 🙏🏽

Taste and see that the Lord is good! God’s glory is on tour in the skies, God-craft on exhibit across the horizon.

Taste and see that the Lord is good! Madame Day holds classes every morning, Professor Night lectures each evening.

Taste and see that the Lord is good! For He satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.

Taste and see that the Lord is good! He remembered us when we were down, He rescued us from the trampling boot!

Taste and see that the Lord is good! He fills our mouth with good things, So our youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Taste and see that the Lord is good! He takes care of everyone in time of need. Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story—

Thank God, who did it all!  His love never quits! 🥺🥺

…Something sweet for your FriYay, friends!

I stumbled on this quote by MLK earlier this week, and I screamed Yes!!!

See what 1 John 4:7 says, “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.”☺️🥰

What this means is that the God-life is a life of love. 😊
I would rather to stick with love, because hate is too heavy a burden. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I hope that your weekend will be filled with light and love and warmth! Yes, with the warmth too, haha! ❄️☃️🧣😜

No better time to remind ourselves of the ultimacy and dependability of love than during the weekend when we usually spend more time with loved ones, parents/children, spouses, siblings and friends. 😊

“Love never fails” is the first part of 1 Corinthians 13:8

Love is the greatest; love, as we know, has started wars/feuds and has also ended them.

Love never fails. Where logic, physical strength, tactics, manipulation, words of advice, or an overload of knowledge fails, love always succeeds.

So, for me, I plan to choose love.

And I hope you do too. 🤗

I am sure that you enjoyed reading these as much as I did sharing them. x

For Weekly Nuggets #3, a new approach is in the works! 😁 Can’t wait to share that with you!

Until then, I wish you a fantastic week ahead!
