Hi there! 😊 Happy new week! 👋🏼
Last week, I had a most fascinating journey thinking up and writing daily quotes and captions on Instagram. The theme I chose for last week’s nuggets was Light. I found the process interesting because of two reasons. First, it reinforced just how much one can find when one digs into a particular spot. I mean, how are there so many quotes just on Light?!! Also, it was enlightening as some of the nuggets led me to areas I could focus on for personal, social and career development.
I have chosen to share only 2 of the 7 captions from last week. You know where to find the rest. 😜 These 2 are my favourites; thoughts that I would like my reader-friends to ponder on. 💛🤎
Light is always light, little or not. 🤔
Why do I say so? Because it always overpowers darkness.
It doesn’t matter if it is the tiny flicker of a candle or full LED flood lights.
There’s one thing that light does – it pushes the darkness away.
It reflects in the goodness in our tones and our choice of words,
It radiates in the thoughtfulness and ease with which we forgive or overlook offences,
It shines in the purity of our motives and choices,
It resonates the glory of God in the way you live.
Light is powerful.
Light is influential.
Light is different.
So, if there’s any choice I’m making today, it is to shine my light.
Yea, I know I’m still a work in progress.
I know that I’m yet learning the life of Christ and building my life on His truths brick by brick.
But the much I have today, I’ll shine.
I’ll shine because I know that somehow, it would matter.
And then, as I get better, my light will be all the more brighter.
Until I am a floodlight.
Until I am a beacon.
Ah yes, the time will come when my brightness will reach beyond the seashore; when its ripple effects will extend the ends of the earth.
When the Light of life, completely formed in me – fully absorbed as it were, is maximally transmitted and reflected to my world. And they see nothing but glory, His glory.
Until then, I’ll keep shining.
I am light.

Say you are making your way through a dark tunnel, the only source of light being a flashlight in your hand.
You mistakenly hit the off-switch of your flashlight and you are suddenly surrounded by pitch darkness and all its accompanying baggage:
Guilt: “How clumsy of me to turn off the flashlight!”
Critical self-image: “I never do anything right!”
Fear: “Is there a monster lurking in that corner?”
Defeat: “I would not make it through this tunnel. This is the end for me.”
And so on…
Then, through all that fog, you hear a quiet suggestion in your heart,
“Why don’t you turn the flashlight back on? It’s right there in your hand. You have light – the potential for illumination.”
You heed and instantly, the tunnel becomes well lit. With joy, bliss and confidence, you finish your adventure.
“My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.” (1 John 2:1 NIV)
If you ever make a wrong choice/ decision as a Christian (a light-bearer), do not wallow in guilt, fear, defeat, or any of darkness’s accomplices.
Call to Jesus immediately. Confess your wrong ways to Him, turn to the right way, and watch Him switch the light back on, stat!
I hope you find hope, light and fresh motivation from these words. Below is a gallery of the other 5 quotes from the Light Week. Most people are familiar with the Marianne Williamson quote. If you are not, I’ve got a movie recommendation for ya: “Akeelah and the Bee.” It’s an oldie but a goodie. 😊 The rest are from my favourite book of all times, The Bible.
What would the theme for this new week be? 🤔
Have yourself a super-duper, fantabulous week ahead! 🥂
